Before & After Dresser

A few months back my mom and dad gave me an old dresser that my grandmother had in her home. I wanted something more vibrant so I thought a bright apple red color with a little antiquing would do the trick for my guest room. Here are the before and after pictures.

Fan Club

My "fan club" as I call them, mostly consist of my family members, of course. They are my biggest supporters and encouragers when it come to my art. These 3 paintings reside in my sister's home, who ALWAYS gets so excited to display them. I am honored every time I visit her beautiful home!

Art around the house

Here a few pieces from around the house that I have done over the years.

This one we call "Blue." Don't think I need to give a reason why:). I painted this in 2007 when our home was being built and we were living with my in-laws. This is an original painting that I actually had in my mind for a while and it finally came out in oil paint! I originally painted it with a hibiscus flower in mind but I've had many people comment that it looks like the ocean!

This is a little fun animal art I painted for my son's room. I took leftover boards and painted them white and nailed them together. Then, from a Target http://www.target.com/Tiddliwinks-Safari-Friends-Fitted-Jungle/dp/B004512SI2/ref=sc_qi_detaillink sheet I had for his crib (has these same animals on it) I picked my 2 favorite and painted them with acrylic on the wood!

And this one is copied from HGTV's "Color Splash" with David Bromstad http://www.hgtv.com/color-splash/show/index.html. He did a small painting like this one in different (bright) colors and I loved it and had to have it! So, I took some leftover wall paint that I had used on our guest bathroom and, WALLAH!

More to come! :)

Sharpie Art

Totally stolen from:

I saw this post on Apartment Therapy http://www.ohdeedoh.com/ohdeedoh/wallpaper-graphics/knockoff-schumacher-wallpaper-with-sharpie-pens-shannon-berry-design-145275 , and instead of tackling a WHOLE WALL, I just drew this on a canvas. I LOVE how it turned out and I find it to be a fun, fresh peice of art for the spring time!

New beginnings of a blog that I hope to update regularly and keep records of all the DIY projects, new paintings/crafts, and attachtments to all the blogs I get my ideas from! This is more for me than anyone, although I'm sure my family will enjoy the pictures and updates of BB (baby boy) and Hubby too:)! Currently working on this...
Can't remember where I found the stencile...I drew it up myself (copying of course from some beautiful home I saw online) and just traced it and painted in the same white as our crown molding. It takes soooooo long, so this is an ongoing project during nap time or when hubby is home to entertain BB.
